Privacy Policy

Clean Master (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a photo, video, contacts and calendar cleanup utility for iPhone. The App is built to be private by design. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what the App does — and does not do — with your information.

1. Information processed on your device

To do its job, the App reads the following data locally on your iPhone. This data is never sent to us or to any third party:

• Photos & videos. Read to detect similar photos, exact duplicates, screenshots, blurry shots, Live Photos and large videos. Thumbnails and analysis results are cached only in the App’s private storage on your device.
• Contacts. Read to identify duplicate contacts and entries with missing information. All matching happens on your device.
• Calendar & events. Read to surface expired events you may want to remove. All analysis happens on your device.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not collect, store on a server, or share any of the following: names, emails, phone numbers, photos, videos, contacts, calendar entries, precise or coarse location, device advertising identifiers, usage analytics, or crash reports. The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

3. Permissions and why they are requested

• Photo Library (full access) — required to analyze your library for duplicates, screenshots, blurry photos and large videos, and to delete the items you choose. With “Limited Access”, the App can only see the photos you manually select.
• Add to Photos — only used by iOS when restoring previously deleted items. The App does not save new photos.
• Contacts — required to find duplicate or incomplete contacts.
• Calendar (full access) — required to find and remove expired events.

You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. The corresponding feature will simply stop working; the rest of the App continues to function.

4. Local storage and data deletion

The App keeps its working database, cached thumbnails and your settings inside its private app sandbox on the device (using on-device SQLite storage and the iOS secure keychain for settings). This data never leaves your iPhone.

• When you delete photos, videos, contacts or events through the App, they are removed from your device’s library through the standard iOS deletion flow (with system confirmation). Deleted photos go to the iOS “Recently Deleted” album per Apple’s rules.
• Uninstalling the App permanently removes all App-local data (database, caches, settings). Because we hold no data on any server, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf and no data-deletion request is necessary.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Premium features and subscriptions are processed exclusively by Apple through In-App Purchase (StoreKit). We never see or receive your payment information. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. The App may receive your anonymous subscription status from Apple in order to unlock paid features; this status contains no personal information.

6. Data sharing

We do not share, rent, or sell any data, because the App does not collect any data to begin with. No data is transmitted off your device by the App.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. Because the App collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.

8. International users

Since the App processes everything locally on your device and transfers no personal data, there is no cross-border transfer or storage of your information by us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
